From 16 to 18 December 2025, the 2025 Annual Conference of the China Academy of Arbitration Law and the 18th China Arbitration and Judiciary Forum,  hosted by the China Academy of Arbitration Law  and organised by the Hunan Chamber of Commerce of the China Chamber of International Commerce,  were held in Changsha, Hunan Province.

NIE Wenhui, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) , ZHOU Nong, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Hunan Province,  and HOU Zhenfa, Vice President of the China Academy of Arbitration Law,  attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. MA Zhengping, Deputy Director of the Civil Law Office of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress,  ZHENG Zhenyu, Deputy Director General of the Administration of Public Legal Services of the Ministry of Justice,  and MA Dongxu, Judge of the Fourth Civil Division of the Supreme People’s Court  and Second-Level Senior Judge,  delivered keynote speeches. More than 300 representatives from universities, research institutes, law firms, enterprises, and 47 arbitration institutions across the country attended the event.

At this annual Conference, the first meeting of the Fifth General Assembly of Members of the China Academy of Arbitration Law and the first meeting of its Fifth Council were convened, at which the councillors, standing councillors and the new leadership team of the Fifth Council were elected. NIE Wenhui, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, was elected President of the China Academy of Arbitration Law. WANG Chengjie, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), was elected Vice President of the China Academy of Arbitration Law; GU Yan, Vice President of CIETAC Arbitration Court,  was elected Secretary General of the China Academy of Arbitration Law; CIETAC was elected as Executive Vice President institution of the China Academy of Arbitration Law.

SU Sa, Deputy Director of the CIETAC Arbitration Institute,  took part in the panel discussion on “New Pathways for Building International Arbitration Centers in the Context of the Revision of the Arbitration Law”, and delivered a speech drawing on CIETAC’s long-standing work and innovative practice in participating in the construction of international arbitration centers.

As a leading arbitration institution in China, CIETAC has long attached great importance to research on arbitration theory and practice, has played an important role in the work of the China Academy of Arbitration Law, and has contributed comprehensively to the development of China’s arbitration sector.
