On the afternoon of July 2, 2025, Liu Yanling, President of the Beijing Lawyers Association (BLA), along with Vice Presidents Zhang Lixia and Hu Zhanquan, led a delegation comprising representatives from the BLA's Professional Committees of Internet Litigation Law, Commercial Arbitration Law, and Specialized Working Committee of Foreign-related Legal Services to visit the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC). The Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Wang Chengjie of CIETAC, the Vice Presidents of Arbitration Court Xie Changqing and Gu Yan received the delegation and held in-depth and pragmatic discussions.

 

 

Secretary-General Wang Chengjie first extended a warm welcome to the BLA delegation and provided a brief introduction to CIETAC's history, case intake volume, experienced arbitrator panels, diversified dispute resolution mechanisms, initiatives to enhance the credibility of arbitration, and the development of smart arbitration. Secretary-General Wang emphasized that lawyers are a vital driving force behind the flourishing development of the arbitration industry, and are also key players working in concert with arbitration institutions to advance both domestic and foreign-related rule of law. CIETAC places high importance on cooperation with the BLA and is willing to take the promotion of high-quality development of the arbitration industry as an opportunity to join forces in enhancing the international competitiveness and influence of China's legal services, contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to improving the global governance system.

President Liu Yanling highly commended CIETAC's outstanding achievements and extensive influence in the field of domestic and international commercial arbitration and provided a brief overview of the BLA's development. President Liu stated that CIETAC boasts a long history and rich dispute resolution experience, consistently maintaining a leading position in the industry. The BLA looks forward to close cooperation with CIETAC, actively leveraging the Association's proactive role and professional advantages to enhance the foreign-related legal service capabilities of lawyers in the capital and contribute to promoting Chinese arbitration on the global stage.

 

 

During the meeting, the two sides engaged in pragmatic and constructive in-depth exchanges on specific issues concerning the intersection of arbitration and bankruptcy procedures, online platform arbitration, and the building of arbitration credibility. CIETAC attendees included: Lu Fei, Director of the Business Development Division; Zhou Wen, Director of the Domestic Case Division; Lv Yan, Deputy Director of the Filing Consultant Division; Chen Mi, Deputy Director of the Supervision and Coordination Division; Qiao Shasha, Deputy Director of the International Case Division; Su Sa, Deputy Director of the Arbitration Research Institute; Wu Shaoxuan, Deputy Director of the Commission Affairs Division; and Lu Yahan, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Dispute Resolution Division.
