The event “Dialogue on the Frontiers of International Commercial Arbitration: ‘Face-to-Face with Legal Practitioners’ and ‘Arbitration in Campus’” successfully held on April 23, co-hosted by Nanjing University Law School and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission Jiangsu Arbitration Center (CIETAC Jiangsu Arbitration Center) and organized by Nanjing University “Excellent Legal Talents” Workshop. 

Yang Yang, Vice Dean of Nanjing University Law School, attended the event and delivered a speech. He stated that they advocates the practice-oriented legal talents cultivation model, emphasizing that building expertise in foreign-related legal knowledge in light of evolving economic and trade dynamics can help students expand their career prospects. He also encouraged students to pursue careers in legal fields such as arbitration, where they can apply their academic knowledge directly in practice, engage with opportunities and challenges in the foreign-related legal construction, while achieving sustained personal and professional development within the broader context of societal progress.

Tang Yinhong, Deputy Secretary-General of CIETAC Jiangsu Arbitration Center, delivered a keynote speech titled CIETAC Arbitration Services Facilitate the Internationalization of Chinese Arbitration. Through data visualization, he vividly illustrated the rapid growth of commercial arbitration in China in recent years. He also provided a in-depth interpretation of the highlights and key innovations of CIETAC Arbitration Rules (2024), analyzed the characteristics of foreign-related arbitration with specific arbitration cases, and explained the key points in handling foreign-related commercial arbitration cases.

Zhang Liang and Jin Rui,  Case Managers of CIETAC Jiangsu Arbitration Center, shared their insights on the basic concepts of commercial arbitration, key provisions of CIETAC Arbitration Rules (2024), and practical experience in handling arbitration cases.

Jiao Yan, associate professor of Nanjing University Law School moderated the interactive discussion, during which the participants engaged in-depth exchanges on theoretical research on arbitration and practical issues in arbitration, and career paths in foreign-related legal professions. 

CIETAC has always attached great importance to the cultivation of foreign-related legal talents. In the future, CIETAC Jiangsu Arbitration Center will establish a broader platform for in-depth integration and communication between theoretical research and legal practice , and continuously contribute to the cultivation of compound legal talents with international dispute resolution capacities.
