The first and second phases of the 137th China Import and Export Fair ("Canton Fair") were successfully held in Guangzhou from April 15 to 27, 2024. As the world's largest comprehensive trade event, this session attracted nearly 230,000 overseas purchasers from 219 countries and regions as of the current date, setting a record high for the same period in history. CIETAC has been invited to participate in the Canton Fair for its 29th consecutive session, providing global exhibitors and buyers with professional commercial legal consultation and services.

During the Canton Fair, nearly 100 domestic and international business representatives from Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, and other regions visited CIETAC’s exhibition booth. They expressed strong interest in CIETAC's internationally influential initiatives, including its formulation of model arbitration clauses, intelligent and user-friendly arbitration procedures, professional panel of arbitrators, framework of its global institutional network, and flagship events, such as China Arbitration Week and the China Arbitration Summit. Through interactions with CIETAC staff and reviewing exhibition materials, exhibitors and purchasers unanimously acknowledged that arbitration—with its efficient, convenient, and confidential characteristics—aligns closely with the evolving needs of business entities and has become an increasingly preferred dispute resolution method. Visitors further recognized that CIETAC's high-quality arbitration services, combined with its extensive global influence and credibility, are well-positioned to meet the growing demand for dispute resolution under new economic and trade dynamics.

Since its first participation in the 2007 Canton Fair, CIETAC has provided an open and inclusive international perspective and a commitment to a pursuit of excellence in service delivery on this crucial platform for trade development. As China's first international commercial arbitration institution, CIETAC has developed a diversified dispute resolution service structure with distinctive characteristics and primarily focused on commercial arbitration over its 70-year history. Looking forward, CIETAC will maintain its strong sense of responsibility and mission, leverage its international brand influence to unite global arbitration forces, promote the development of the international commercial arbitration system, and advance international arbitration exchanges and cooperation. By doing so, CIETAC will provide robust safeguards for enterprises engaged in domestic and international commercial interactions.
