On April 30, 2025, Tat Lim, President of the International Mediation Institute (IMI), led his delegation to visit CIETAC.
As the authoritative body driving global mediation standardization, IMI is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting transparency and standards in mediation worldwide. Adhering to the concept of "Global Professional Mediation: Promoting Consensus and Judicial Fairness," IMI has established and implemented high mediation standards, developed professional mediation skill training programs, and fostered international collaboration among stakeholders.
During the visit, Lu Fei, Director of the Career Development Department of CIETAC, and Lu Yahan, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Department, met and discussed with the delegation. The discussions focused on the collaborative development of arbitration and mediation, particularly the differences in mediation practices under Chinese and Western cultural contexts and legal jurisdictions. They also discussed strategies to enhance the attractiveness of international mediation through professional training and alignment of rules. Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation, deepen interactions in areas such as joint research and training, and collectively advance the innovation and development of diversified dispute resolution mechanisms.
