On May 8, 2025, Wang Chengjie, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CIETAC, met with a delegation in Beijing led by Professor Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler, Honorary President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA), and Ms. Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah, Former Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Adjunct Professor of Tsinghua University Law School.

During the symposium, Secretary-General Wang Chengjie highlighted CIETAC's recent advancements in arbitration informatization, particularly the progress in digital institutional development. He conducted live demonstrations of the innovative functionalities of CIETAC's digital tools in case management, such as the Smart Platform and Intelligent Hearing Platform. The two sides further engaged in thorough discussions on the application of artificial intelligence and the critical issues surrounding AI in arbitration.Both parties exchanged views that regard ensuring AI deployment does not compromise procedural fairness, establishing mechanisms to safeguard data security in AI applications, and mitigating risks of biased arbitral outcomes due to algorithmic bias.
