On the morning of October 25, 2017, CCPIT（Fujian） Pilot Free Trade Zone Pingtan Service Center ( Pingtan Service Center) unveiled in Pingtan, marking the formal establishment of the seventh service center of CCPIT in the eleven Free Trade Zones of China.

Lu Pengqi, Vice Chairman of CCPIT, and Lin Wenyao, Director of Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Wang Chengjie, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CIETAC and Fu Jian, Vice Chairman of CCPIT Fujian Sub-Council attended the ceremony, which was presided by Lin Shunjie, Vice Director of the Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone. 

Lu pointed out in his speech that the establishment of Pilot Free Trade Zones is a major strategy of the nation to further reform and open to the outside world in the new era. In order to further implementing the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and  the national Pilot Free Trade Zone strategy of the State Council, CCPIT takes the initiative to perform its responsibilities by setting up CCPIT service centers in the Pilot Free Trade Zones so as to be further involved in supporting and participating in the construction of the Pilot Free Trade Zones and providing support and service to the local government and companies in the zones.

As the first Pilot Free Trade Zone Service Center established in Fujian, Pingtan enjoys the advantages of CCPIT and plays an important role in trade, investment and commercial legal services.  The next step will focus on “building a common home and tourist island for both sides across the Strait and providing more convenient measures in investment and trade, financial and personal exchange”, and provide further service with active work.

Lin Wenyao, Director of the Administrative Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone said that the establishment of Pingtan Area in the Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone is a major move of the central government in supporting Pingtan to open and develop. It was specifically put forward at the 19th CPC National Congress  to “give the Pilot Free Trade Zones greater reform-autonomy to explore the construction of Free Trade Port”. Pingtan will further match itself up with the most developed rules and standards so as to speed up the construction of Pingtan Free Trade Port and play a greater role in deepening Cross-strait cooperation and advancing the construction of 21st Maritime Silk Road. The establishment of CCPIT (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone Service Center will greatly promote the development of the Pingtan Area with its advantages in abundant communication channels with business communities, multiple trade and investment promotion platforms and professional commercial legal services to facilitate the international development of enterprises.   

During his stay in Fujian, Lu also led the CCPIT delegation to meet with Li Dejin, Vice Governor of Fujian Province to talk about the establishment of the Service Center and visited the Administrative Committees in Fuzhou Area and Xiamen Area.
