On the afternoon of April 18, 2025, the "International Commercial Arbitration Practice" course under the joint LLM (Master of Laws) program (specialized in International Arbitration) between CIETAC and Xi’an Jiaotong University officially commenced at the CIETAC Silk Road Arbitration Center. Jiang Hongmei, Vice Secretary-General of the CIETAC Silk Road Arbitration Center, lectured on "The Development of Chinese Foreign-Related Arbitration and Comparisons Among International Arbitration Institutions." Zhang Gaung, Vice Dean of Northwest University of Politics & Lawschool  of International Law, NWUPL, Gu Enuo, Associate Professor of Xi’an Jiaotong University School of Law, and over 70 students from Xi’an Jiaotong University and Northwest University of Political Science and Law attended the course.

Vice Secretary-General Jiang Hongmei systematically reviewed CIETAC’s development footprints and its historical significance. She started from the establishment of CIETAC and introduced the evolution from the beginning into a globally recognized arbitration institution, emphasizing its role in advancing the foreign-related rule of law system and the service of the Belt and Road Initiative. She emphasized that arbitration, as a globally accepted dispute resolution mechanism, is not only a core element of legalized business environment, but also an important manifestation of the country's soft power. Over the past seventy years, CIETAC has been adhering to the path of professionalization and internationalization, continuously improving its arbitration rules and innovating its service model, and the credibility of its awards has gained wide recognition worldwide. She urged students to cultivate professional expertise and global perspectives to contribute to China’s arbitration development.

As a practitioner in cultivating China's foreign-related legal talents, CIETAC has always been committed to cultivating high-level and practical foreign-related arbitration talents. In 2022, in order to deepen the implementation of Notice on the Implementation of the Master Program for the LLM (International Arbitration) issued by the General Office of the Mistry of Education and the General Office of the Ministry of Justice, CIETAC, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and Xi’an Jiaotong Univerisy signed the Joint LLM Program (International Arbitration) Agreement. The joint program launched its first course in April 2024 at Xi’an Jiaotong University. This course is designed by CIETAC and co-taught by CIETAC experts and arbitrators, incorporating the local practice in Xi’an, with the aim of improving the practical skills of students.
