On March 14, 2025, Wang Chengjie, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and Gu Yan, Vice President of CIETAC Arbitration Court, along with other representatives, received a delegation led by Professor Du Huanfang, Party Committee Secretary of RUC Law School, and Professor Yang Dong, Dean of RUC Law School. The two parties held discussions on further strengthening cooperation in foreign-related legal affairs.

During the symposium, Secretary-General Wang Chengjie pointed out that CIETAC possesses extensive and unique experience in foreign-related arbitration practices. It is well-positioned and capable of playing a more proactive role in advancing the practice-oriented legal education mechanism and coordinating the development of domestic rule of law and foreign-related legal systems. CIETAC and the RUC Law School have already established a solid foundation for collaboration in international legal cooperation. Their partnership has demonstrated diverse approaches to talent cultivation and yielded fruitful results in joint research initiatives. Both institutions shoulder distinct historical missions and social responsibilities. Their cooperation should adhere to the principles of setting visionary goals, precise positioning, and pragmatic measures, fostering mutual support and shared success. This collaboration must not only align with the nation's major strategic development decisions but also serve their respective institutional growth needs. Building on existing achievements, they should jointly explore innovative cooperation models and deepen collaborative content. 

Party Committee Secretary Du Huanfang and Dean Yang Dong expressed gratitude to CIETAC for hosting the visit from RUC Law School. They introduced the progress of Renmin University Law School’s "world-class discipline construction", preparations for the World Law Congress, and the development of the Foreign-related Rule of Law Large Model. They highly commended CIETAC’s achievements in advancing the internationalization of Chinese arbitration, stating that RUC Law School and CIETAC are the "national team" in legal education and arbitration, respectively. They proposed to further strengthen collaboration with CIETAC to achieve mutual enhancement between teaching and practice, integrate theory with application, and amplify the impact befitting their roles as national leaders in their fields.

During the symposium, participants from both sides exchanged views on matters including sharing extraterritorial/transnational rule of law resources, conducting joint pragmatic research, digital economy rule of law and dispute resolution, as well as collaborative innovation talent training. They reached consensus on strengthening cooperation and actively advancing follow-up implementation plans.
