During the symposium, Wang Chengjie briefed the delegation on the historical background, organizational structure, professional team, case administration—particularly the handling of foreign-related cases—and internationalization efforts of CIETAC. He also offered suggestions regarding the revision of the Arbitration Law. Experts and participants engaged in in-depth discussions on the draft of the revision of the Arbitration Law, focusing on topics such as the supervision and management mechanism for arbitration institutions and arbitrators, handling of objections to the validity of arbitration agreements, and providing legislative support for making China a new hub for international commercial arbitration through advanced arbitration legal system.

Wang Hongxiang pointed out that CIETAC, as the first arbitration institution established in China and a leading institution in the field, has made significant contributions to the development of the rule of law in arbitration with its international perspective and high-level positioning. In the context of high-standard opening-up and high-quality Belt and Road Initiative cooperation, the role of arbitration in ensuring fair and efficient resolution of commercial disputes has become increasingly prominent. He stated that this symposium on the revision of the Arbitration Law is a pragmatic move by the NPC to solicit public opinion, gather public wisdom, and improve the quality and effectiveness of legislation. The objective is to thoroughly implement the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee  and to establish a uniquely Chinese arbitration legal system aligned with international rules, contributing to China's active participation in global governance. He expressed the hope that the arbitration community including CIETAC would continue contributing their wisdom and strength to the construction of the rule of law in Chinese arbitration law.
