From December 2nd to 5th, 2024, a delegation from the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) attended a series of events during the Innovation & IP Week in Hong Kong.

From December 3rd to 4th, the Brand Strategy Asia, supported by the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC), was successfully convened. The Brand Strategy Asia, hosted by World Trademark Review, is a significant conference focused on brand protection. The conference invited the head of the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Department, representatives from well-known enterprises, trademark experts, and intellectual property lawyers, featuring discussions and insights on methods and the latest trends in brand protection. As the founding institution and Beijing office of ADNDRC, CIETAC actively participated in the conference and set up an exhibition booth for the first time, introducing to attendees the value of domain name dispute resolution procedures in protecting trademark rights and their unique advantages in efficiently and economically resolving domain name disputes.

On December 5th, the CIETAC delegation attended the 14th Business of IP Asia Forum, which was co-organized by the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and was themed “Reimagining IP for Impact and Growth”. They engaged in discussions with intellectual property dispute resolution organizations, intellectual property service agencies, corporate representatives, and trademark holders, focusing on CIETAC's diversified intellectual property dispute resolution services.

During their visit in Hong Kong, CIETAC delegation also paid a visit to the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong and held a discussion with Zhao Yun, Deputy Dean and domain name dispute resolution expert, on new developments in the generic top-level domain dispute resolution.

CIETAC has always placed great emphasis on the intellectual property protection and dispute resolution, having handled a substantial number of arbitration cases concerning intellectual property rights.
