On the morning of November 22, 2024, Gu Yan, Vice President of the Arbitration Court of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), led a delegation to visit the Tashkent office of Yun De Law Firm in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan, and had a discussion and exchanged views.

Yuan Lingyun, representative of Yun De Law Firm Tashkent Office, warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the overall situation of Yun De Law Firm and the main business sectors of Yun De Law Firm Tashkent Office to the delegation, focusing on Tashkent's huge market potential in the field of new energy and the future demand for cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in the field of dispute resolution.

 

 

Gu Yan, Vice President of CIETAC Arbitration Court, pointed out that with the deepening of the Belt and Road Initiative, Central Asia has become increasingly important in international economic and trade exchanges, which also puts forward higher requirements for legal services. Afterwards, President Gu presented an overview of CIETAC, in terms of its global layout, the overall situation of case filings and case statistics involving Uzbek parties. The two sides exchanged views on the business sectors of Chinese-funded law firms in the region, the legal system of arbitration in Uzbekistan, the commonly used dispute resolution methods in the region, the selection of arbitration institutions, and the role played by Chinese lawyers.

After the meeting, Vice President Gu Yan and his team visited the office of Yun De Law Firm, expecting that both sides can further strengthen communication in the future and jointly contribute to the internationalized commercial legal services in Central Asia.
