On 27 November 2024, the "UNCITRAL Regional Center for Asia and the Pacific-University of Macau Joint Conference 2024", co-hosted by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL)( https://uncitral.un.org/en) and the University of Macau (https://www.um.edu.mo/) , was successfully held at the University of Macau. Mr. Wang Haocheng, Deputy Secretary-General of CIETAC Hong Kong Arbitration Center (http://www.cietachk.org.cn/) , was invited to deliver speeches for the Conference, alongside Ms. Athita Komindr, Head of the UNCITRAL Regional Center for Asia and the Pacific (https://uncitral.un.org/en/TA/regionalcentre_asia_pacific); Mr. Thong Hiu Ching, Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau(https://fll.um.edu.mo/?lang=zh-hant); and Ms. Wong Kio Chan, Director of Treaties Division of the Legal Affairs Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region (https://www.dsaj.gov.mo/dept/dadidir_en.aspx) .

The conference was centered on the theme, "Harmonization of Trade Law in the Age of Generative AI: Revisiting UNCITRAL’s Legal Standards on Uniform Sales Law, E-Commerce, Dispute Resolution and Insolvency". Approximately 40 experts and scholars from various jurisdictions, involving Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Kazakhstan, Poland, Belgium, Russia and other jurisdictions delivered speeches on the topic. Mr. Au Jintao, Legal Counsel of CIEATC Hong Kong Arbitration Center, gave a special presentation titled "Cross-border Enforcement of Arbitral Awards" with reference to the case of CIETAC.
