In recent years, CIETAC has witnessed a continuous increase in key business indicators, such as the caseload, the disputed amount, and the nationalities of cases. Up to now, CIETAC has accepted arbitration cases involving 165 countries and regions around the world, of which 32 new countries have been added in the past five years. From January to August 2024, the number of CIETAC cases involved 81 countries and regions, an increase of 8 compared to the same period last year. At the same time, CIETAC arbitral awards were recognized and enforced in different jurisdictions around the world. Since the beginning of this year, the courts of Canada, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Argentina, Vietnam and other countries have recognized and enforced CIETAC arbitral awards.

With the release of multilingual versions of the 2024 Arbitration Rules, CIETAC aims to provide convenient services for parties around the world, help parties in different countries and regions to accurately understand and apply CIETAC Arbitration Rules, ensure that the fairness, efficiency and transparency of arbitration procedure, minimize obstacles in the cross-border recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, and enhance the confidence of parties in choosing arbitration.

CIETAC will better facilitate the close connection between Chinese arbitration and international arbitration practice, promote the exchange, mutual learning and advancement of arbitration rules around the world, and play a role in promoting the construction of international commercial arbitration center and building China as the new seat for international commercial arbitration.

In order to ensure the accuracy and authority, the translation of the 2024 Arbitration Rules in seven languages was entrusted to the CICG Academy of Translation and Interpretation. In case of any inconsistency between the above-mentioned language versions of the 2024 Arbitration Rules and the English and Chinese versions, the Chinese and English versions shall prevail.
