On October 17, 2024, the commercial legal services booth of China International Economic & Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”) at the 136th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair)  was visited by Ren Hongbin, Secretary of CPC Party Leadership Group and Chairman of the Promotion of International Trade (“CCPIT”)  and Director of CIETAC, accompanied by Xu Yanbo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Secretary General of CIETAC.  

Chairman Ren Hongbin carefully read the publications of CIETAC in both Chinese and English and fully affirmed the professionalism and service spirit of CIETAC during the Canton Fair. Chairman Ren said that CIETAC should continue to give full play to its advantages of specialization and internationalization, strive for excellence in its international commercial arbitration services, represent China’s most important and influential brand of international arbitration to the broader world stage, and contribute to the building of China’s international commercial arbitration center as a highland and the promotion of the prosperity and development of international commercial arbitration.

During the Canton Fair, nearly one hundred business representatives from the United States, Argentina, Yemen, Vietnam, Turkey, Egypt, and other countries and regions made a special trip to visit the CIETAC booth. They expressed great interest in the formulation of CIETAC’s Model Arbitration Clauses, intelligent and convenient arbitration procedures, professional arbitration team, internationalized network layout of institutions as well as CIETAC’s brand activities with world influence such as China Arbitration Week and China Arbitration Summit Forum, and so on. Through communication and exchanges with the staff of CIETAC and reviewing the exhibition materials, the exhibitors and buyers expressed their appreciation and recognition of the fact that as the “leader” of China’s arbitration industry, CIETAC, while keeping abreast of the times and providing impartial, internationalized and professional arbitration legal services for parties from all over the world, has always maintained a high sense of responsibility and mission to promote the development of the international commercial arbitration system and to promote the international arbitration exchanges and cooperation.

This year’s Canton Fair was grandly opened on October 15, 2024, in Guangzhou, the millennium business capital. For 28 consecutive years since 2007, CIETAC has been invited as the resident commercial legal service provider of the Canton Fair to provide international trade legal consulting and dispute resolution services for exhibitors and buyers from all over the world.
