On December 28, 2023, at the Conference of Arbitration Credibility Assessment Report and the Third Arbitration Credibility Forum held in Beijing, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) was awarded the double top ten awards of "Top Ten Arbitration Institutions in China" and "Top Ten Arbitration Institutions for Foreign-Related Arbitration Services". This year's assessment of arbitration credibility is centered on the "Arbitration Credibility Index" and "Foreign-related Arbitration Service Index", and CIETAC scored 90 points and 98 points respectively, ranking the first place in the double-top ten, and winning the award again, and the advantages of arbitration credibility and foreign-related arbitration service have been widely recognized.

This Arbitration Credibility Assessment Report was jointly released by China University of Political Science and Law and Legal Daily. Mr. Yang Xiangbin, Director General of the Public Legal Services Administration of the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Huang Jin, Vice President of the China Law Society and Chairman of the Arbitration Research Institute, and Ms. Ma Zhengping, Deputy Director of the Civil Law Office of the Law Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered speeches. Mr. Shi Jianzhong, Vice President of China University of Political Science and Law, presided over the opening ceremony. Ms. Du Xinli, Director of the Arbitration Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law, released a report on the assessment of the credibility of arbitration in China.

The China Arbitration Credibility Assessment Report Project, founded and initiated by the Arbitration Research Institute of China University of Political Science and Law in 2015 and jointly published by China University of Political Science and Law and Legal Daily, is the first social third-party assessment project for the arbitration industry in China, aiming at measuring the level of China's arbitration credibility construction, assessing the overall situation of arbitration services led by arbitration institutions, reflecting the trust and confidence of the market entities in arbitration, and documenting the real trajectory of the development of the arbitration cause, so as to provide academic support and references for the enhancement of the credibility of arbitration, and standardization of and promotion of sustainable development of arbitration cause.

Mr. Wang Chengjie, Deputy Director and Secretary General of CIETAC, was invited to attend the Arbitration Credibility Forum and delivered a keynote speech on "Enhancing the Credibility of Arbitration and Drawing a New Blueprint for Arbitration". He said that credibility is the life and soul of arbitration. With the gradual recovery of the global economy, the continuous promotion of high-level opening up to the outside world, and the deepening of the "Belt and Road" cooperation, the requirements for the internationalization of China's arbitration are getting higher and higher, and the credibility of arbitration is bound to become the core of the internationalization and development of China's arbitration. Improving the credibility of arbitration is a systematic project, which needs to unite all parties to improve the legal system of arbitration, optimize the judicial environment of arbitration, strengthen the self-construction of arbitration institutions, and carry out publicity of arbitration system and concepts at multiple levels. In the context of the new era, and in order to actively respond to the new requirements of the State and the new demands of the market, CIETAC has continuously improved its arbitration rules and launched the 10th edition of Arbitration Rules this year, further enhancing the autonomy, flexibility, fairness, efficiency and transparency of the arbitration process; strengthened the construction of its team of arbitrators, and appointed 1,881 Chinese and foreign arbitrators from 145 countries and regions, thus realizing the globalization of its team of arbitrators; It has strengthened the cultivation of foreign-related rule of law talents, created the CIETAC Cup International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the International Investment Arbitration Moot Competition, cooperated with dozens of universities at home and abroad to establish a mechanism for joint master's degree training, and set up the CIETAC International Arbitration Research Institute, thus laying a solid foundation for the development of the cause of arbitration in terms of talents. It has deepened international exchanges, maintained friendly exchanges with nearly 90 overseas partners around the world, issued the Beijing Joint Declaration of Arbitration Institutions of the "Belt and Road" and its Cooperation Mechanism, constructed the first international arbitration cooperation community of the "Belt and Road", organized a series of high-end forums for the ASEAN, Latin America, Central Asia and the Middle East, and set up the ASEAN and Central Asia Trial Centers of CIETAC, extensively build a platform for international arbitration cooperation under the rule of law, construct an international arbitration ecosystem, and jointly build a credible international arbitration environment. He said that building the credibility of arbitration is an undertaking career that only has a starting point but no ending point, and CIETAC is willing to work hand in hand with all fields to forge and improve the international credibility of China's arbitration, and make due contribution to the development of China's arbitration cause. 

Leaders from the National People's Congress, the Supreme People's Court, the Ministry of Justice and other relevant departments, representatives of the Expert Review Committee and dozens of local arbitration institutions participated in the meeting, and the guests exchanged views and discussed the improvement of the credibility of arbitration and the promotion of the high-quality development of the arbitration cause.
